Dear Friend of East Valley Elementary,

My name is Colleen Crowston, principal of East Valley Elementary. It is an honor to be a part of the East Valley School District and especially EVE. I firmly believe our district is second to none in our Yakima Valley!

Our mission is for all students to learn in a safe and caring environment. Students are more likely to achieve success when partnerships exist between home and school.

Every day students are actively learning in their classes. Please avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session. Just missing two days a month can significantly impact your child’s learning. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college and at work. If your child seems anxious about going to school, talk to the classroom teacher, our counselor Mrs. Bartheld or myself for strategies to make him/her feel comfortable and excited about learning.

Please contact me if you are interested in volunteering at school. We have many opportunities and welcome your involvement. Our Parent Teacher Organization, PTO, is also always seeking parents to support their many activities.

We are proud of our academic and nonacademic accomplishments. East Valley Elementary has been recently recognized, as a School of Distinction for continued growth in the areas of reading and math. Our staff and students strive to showcase HERO characteristics, (Honesty, Effort, Respect and Organization). It is my role to support our learning community.
